Born in Romania (Transylvania) on the 10th of November 1979, Adriana began taking private piano lessons in the village of her grandparents, Lisa, with Ms. Cecilia Gadea, following with the Music school (Prof. Elvira Pascanu), Gymnasium, Art High school and one Music University year (Prof. Corina Ibanescu) in Brasov (Romania). In 1999, she was admitted at the University for Music and performing Arts in Vienna, to the concert class of Noel Flores, where she has absolved the 1st Diploma Exam in January 2005, the Master of Arts Degree in 2007 and the Postgradual Degree in 2009. She is currently enrolled as a PhD Student at the University of Music and performing Arts in Vienna, under the guidance of Dr. Gerold Gruber.
Adriana Paler has won 28 piano prizes between 1986-2005, at competitions in Romania, Austria, Italy and Switzerland; among them twelve 1st Prizes, eight Special Prizes and two Grand Prizes. She won various scholarships related to her studies, like those from the Swiss Foundation Dr.Robert und Lina Thyll-Dürr, the Austrian Education Ministery and the Tokyo Foundation. She appeared in recitals and concerts in Romania, Austria (also in Konzerthaus Vienna), Hungary, Germany, Italy, France, England, Switzerland and Cuba. After Master Classes with Alexis Weissenberg in Engelberg / Switzerland, she was recorded on two CDs with fragments from the final concerts. As prizewinner of the 1st Viennese Classic Award at the ISA Summer Academy in Baden (Austria), 2005, she played in ORF Radio Vienna and appeared on the CD which has been recorded live. Among her activities and functions between 2005-2006 count responsibilities like Council member, Referent for Women and equal treatment, Vice chairman and Delegate to the University Senate - in the Austrian Student Association ÖH at the University for Music Vienna; since 2006 is she Principal Organizer (and founder) of the SYLFF Network for Music and Arts Vienna, under the support of the Tokyo Foundation. She is involved in charity, environmental and business projects.
